My name is Deirdre Brady and I have a first-class Honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an advanced diploma in Hypno-psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis and Hypnotherapy having trained with the Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. I am an accredited member of The European Association of Professional Hypnotherapists (EAPH) and the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland (APCP) and a member of the Institute of BWRT having qualified as a BWRT( brain working recursive therapy) therapist. I am a Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher and a Yoga Nidra Facilitator. I have a holistic mind, body spirit approach to my life and in my therapy session. Looking at the body as a whole unit that can hold trauma and affect peoples lives. I offer a safe, understanding and confidential relationship with my clients in which to explore and resolve difficult thoughts and emotions. I am an integrative therapist which means I use a variety of techniques including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Clients come to see me for lots of different reasons and the common element across the board is the drive for positive change. What they have been doing up to now has not been working and when symptoms are no longer tolerable and are causing major problems in their everyday lives like overthinking, anxiety, depression, feeling stuck, unhappy, and unhealthy habits like drinking too much, overeating, smoking, etc. then its time to take action! The client is usually unaware of deeper issues buried deep in their unconscious minds, which can come from experiences in childhood. The client knows there is a very real problem but doesn’t yet know how to change and this is where I will work with the client to get to the cause of the symptoms and to change dysfunctional thinking and behaviours. In Hypnotherapy and as a psychotherapist I work with your subconscious mind, the deeper part of your mind that has stored everything you know and have experienced. This is done in a safe way as all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and it is a natural phenomenon. Studies show how effective hypnosis can be as a therapy. The client is aware of everything during the session and often brings huge personal awareness for the client. Seeds of positive change are planted in the deeper mind and transformation can be very quick and life-changing. It is a solution-focused therapy usually 1-3 for Suggestion Therapy and 8-12 sessions for Hypno psychotherapy which would be more complex issues like trauma and depression.
